We’ve all heard the buzz lately about video marketing and how powerful it is on the internet. Here are some quick, easy ways to get started making your first videos.
1. Video Glossary. Record a 1 to 2 minute video with a glossary of terms relevant to your niche. Every niche has special, “insider” terms it uses which may be unfamiliar to outsiders. Help your soon-to-be customers and let them in on the lingo!
2. Daily diary. Make a daily or weekly journal recording showing your viewers what you’re doing and the progress you’re making. This is a a great way to connect with people and let them know you go through challenges they do.
3. Do product reviews! Unbiased product reviews are always hot on the internet. People want to know what others think about something before they buy it or try it. The search engines love these because they’re new and current. You could do a “Product of the Week”!
4. Record your FAQ. Record your Frequently Asked Questions for your viewers. It might help people to understand the problem and the solution better.
5. Keep your audience in mind. What do they need most? Think of it and record it.
I tweeted a great quote yesterday from Mike Dillard that’s a good reminder here, “You must be willing to give without want before you can get.” When you’re recording your videos, remember your audience and produce content that will help them most.
Most importantly, just do it! Record something and get it out there. The more videos you record, the more comfortable you will get. You will notice visible improvements in your videos over time. I notice I have a lot of nervous habits and am trying to eliminate them–at least while I’m recording!
