Can a good habit increase your income? All the learning and studying in the world won’t build your business or improve your life if you don’t have habits in place to implement what you’re learning.

Can a good habit increase your income? What if the habit is recording a 5 minute video everyday for your customers? What if it’s writing a blog post everyday giving your business partners the latest news in your industry? What if it’s practicing Mark Hoverson’s direct response marketing?

Good Habits Can Increase Your Income & Quality of Life

All the learning and studying in the world won’t build your business or improve your life if you don’t have habits in place to implement what you’re learning.

I’ve been studying habits lately and become more and more of a “habit advocate”. I’ve noticed that we all have habits regardless of whether they’re good, bad, or neutral. We already have routines and things that we do the same every day–in the same order, thinking the same thoughts, getting the same results, day after day after day.

If you substitute a current habit that isn’t serving you with a good habit that will move you forward, it can become your new way of life. Yes, it’s hard in the beginning, but after 30 days, 60 at the most, it becomes part of your life and you do it without even thinking about it.

Habits Become Automatic & Effortless

Think about something that seems really hard now, like writing an article every day, exercising every day, writing a blog post every day, shooting a video every day, eating more vegetables every day. If you took the discipline to do it every day for 30 days, to incorporate that in your life, you would do it automatically without even thinking. That good habit would be part of your life.

You wouldn’t even have to think about it. Wouldn’t that be amazing? Would that serve you well? It’s huge!

Getting up early in the morning

Eating dinner with your family

Reading 10 minutes a day

Watching less tv

Drinking less soda

Spending time with your kids, parents, family

…all those things are good habits and can become an effortless part of your life.

It’s not easy to build a good habit. Think about New Year’s resolutions. It’s easy the first day. The first day you start that new resolution you’re gung ho, you’re excited you do it. Maybe even for the next couple days.

Then something gets in your way and you think, “I’ll just miss this one day. It’s no big deal.” Then the next day it’s a little bit harder. You start finding excuses and reasons why it won’t work. Then you do it really sporadically. By the end of the month, you’re not really doing it at all. Probably you’re just feeling guilty because you’re not doing it!

Willpower Required to Build a New Habit

The first week and first month are critical to building a good habit. If you can muster the willpower to do it every day for a week, then 2 weeks, then 3 weeks, and then 4 weeks, it will get a lot easier. But you have to muster that will power every day to do that one thing. Then… the outcome, the reward is that it will be part of your life.

Learning Mark Hoverson’s killer direct response marketing, learning how to write an article that gets clicks or write a powerful sales letter…none of that will do you any good if you don’t have a good habit in place to use what you’re learning, to use your knowledge. If it’s just knowledge, it will go in one ear and out the other. You’ll think about it for a couple weeks and then it will be gone.

Set up a good habit now to put new knowledge into action, whether it’s writing for 10 minutes every morning, setting a work schedule you commit to, or whatever will help you put the knowledge into action. Set up something so you can take what you’re learning from Mark and in this group and use it, do it and make it a habit.

Make it part of your life and then it has the power to change your life. I know Mark’s material has the power to change lives, but the people that are going to see life-changing results are the people that implement and not just once, but every day.

Please share questions and comments below about your good habit strategies!

I recorded this video for a class I’m taking, but it’s relevant on so many levels.

I’ve struggled with perfectionism my whole life–putting things off until the last minute because I was so afraid they wouldn’t be PERFECT. Is anything ever perfect anyway?

But in business, perfectionism will kill you. Perfectionism is the opposite of action. You must take action, you must get going. You cannot wait until everything is ready, perfect, done, or even close!

Trying to be perfect is often a masked excuse for laziness or fear. (I’m not accusing you of being lazy, but I know! I was there!) It doesn’t really matter what your reason is–you have to get over it.

The only way to move past perfectionism is to start DOING things. You have to put stuff out there. Like this video. It’s about as far from perfect as I can imagine. I could give you a laundry list of things I would change.

But…. it’s out here! It’s delivering my message and helping other people. And isn’t that the goal? To help other people improve themselves and move forward with their businesses?

Bingo.

So, pick 1 thing that’s you’ve been putting off because you were waiting for it to be perfect–until you had more time, more money, more help, lose weight, gained weight, pigs to fly–and do it now. If it will move your life or business forward, don’t wait. Do it now. Today!

Share below what your 1 action item is. We’ll hold you accountable. Put it out there! Tell us your unperfect, goofy, crazy, stupid plans. Then do them.

99 Ways to Skin a Cat

There are a lot of “experts” and “financial planners” that have theories and systems about how to survive the recession. Here are just a couple ideas you’ll see across the internet and blogosphere for making it through these tough times:

Get another job

Get more education

Find ways to cut back spending

Move while others are distracted

Refinance your mortgage

Protect your job

Consolidate high interest credit cards

Haggle for more savings

Conserve and reduce your heating/electric bills

Earn extra money

Avoid taking on any debts

I could easily come up with 99 creative, though not necessarily helpful, ways to “skin this cat.” You can Google it yourself and find hundreds of tips from every Tom, Dick and Jane out there.

So let me get straight to the point.

Is There One Best Way?

With so many ways and so much advice, how come not everyone gets rich? How come not everyone who reduces their spending get rich? How come not everyone who has an education get rich? How come not everyone who starts a business get rich?

Because it’s not about what you do, it’s about how you do it. Cause while there are 99 ways to skin a cat, if you don’t do it RIGHT — whichever method you have chosen — it won’t bring RESULTS.

So what is the ONE right thing that you need to do to get rich?

Bob Proctor knows. And he wants to tell you that there is a science — a formula — to get rich. It’s about doing certain things in a certain way. And this blueprint has been proven to make anyone get rich across centuries.

So before you waste your time trying out 99 ways blindly, get this one formula that will transform your financial future.

Click now to get 7 transformational lessons and learn more about the Science of Getting Rich.

In my years teaching people to be successful, I have seen that basically people break their lives down into two major parts: Wealth-building and the rest of their lives. Having done a lot of reflection on these two topics – wealth and life – I am coming to some new conclusions about how to perceive the two.

Until recently I thought that there was a significant difference in how we should tackle the two areas. In fact, I thought that the two topics should be addressed in almost opposite fashion.

You see, wealth-building is just math. While life — Life is art.

Think back with me to high school. Most of us were required to take math and most of us probably took art as well.

Now, think about your final exams in the two areas. Your math paper was graded on hard facts:

Ten times ten is always one-hundred
Thirty divided by three is always ten
Seven plus seven is always fourteen
Fifty minus twenty-five is always twenty-five

There is always just one answer in math. The answers are hard fact, set in stone. Math is a science. It is formulaic. You can know the outcome before it happens, every time.

But what about your final art project? Art is much more subjective. “Beauty,” they say, “is in the eye of the beholder.” There is no one right answer.

Think of the different styles of the famous artists:

Renoir. Monet. Picasso. Rockwell. Warhol.

Different people find different styles beautiful, and that is what makes art, art.

So how does this fit with wealth-building and life? Wealth-building is like math:

If you add $1000 to your retirement account each month and gain seven percent interest over twenty years, you can know now how much you will have then. It is math. If you buy a rental property for $200,000 now and it increases in value by three percent a year, you know exactly how much you will be able to sell it for in ten years. The beauty of math is in the knowing. You can work the system, set it on auto-pilot and the math does the work for you, and you know the outcome.

But life? Life is art. And that is the beauty of life. You do not know how it is going to turn out. Life, like art, is always changing. Different people provide different colors. When you make a mistake, you can go back, erase it or even paint right over it. You can change the scenery. Life, like art, is ever evolving, and what looks good to one person is of no interest to another. And that is what makes life beautiful.

Another lesson I think we can draw is that in life we should do our math, of course, but life isn’t made up of just wealth-building. Wealth-building should serve our ability to live our lives. Jesus, the master teacher, said that our lives are not made up of the abundance of our possessions. He didn’t mean that possessions aren’t good, just that wealth isn’t what life is all about.

So let me ask you: Are you spending more time on your math or your art? Do your math. Everybody should do their very best at their wealth-building plan so they can take care of themselves and their families.

But life is about the art. What does your canvas look like? What kind of picture are you painting? What kind of pot are you creating? What kind of statue are you sculpting? Take your time, make bold strokes, use brilliant colors, and make of your life the most beautiful masterpiece that you can.

In other words, do your math so you can focus on your art.

To Your Success,
Jim Rohn
Do the math and increase your value in the marketplace by 15%, 25%, 50% and even 100%! SAVE on three programs that will take your mind and focus off bottom-line thinking and elevate you to TOP-line thinking.

There is a new on-line course called Simpleology– “The Simple Science of Getting What You Want”. It is so unique; I have never seen anything quite like it. It’s more than just a course, it’s an entire interactive success-achieving system. Written by Mark Joyner, the program operates on the idea that success is a science and if you apply some simple actions, you can achieve your success, however you define it. It can be applied to your health, finances, relationships, business, any area of your life in which you would like to excel.

The Simpleology course is a step-by-step, 40-day system. It is broken down by day and includes simple actions, like writing, reading, watching videos, listening and doing experiments. It’s engaging and requires user participation, a necessary component of any successful system. It guides you through goal setting, learning how to focus, simple ACTIONS you can take to change the course of your life. There are so many engaging, useful components of the system that it’s hard to describe them all! It is extremely organized and focused. It’s also humorous. I frequently laugh out loud while doing my lessons!

It’s not a self-help program or a goal setting program. What makes it unique is how it helps the user focus like a laser beam on exactly what actions need to get done to move forward in life and make real changes. Being on the internet makes it interactive in so many ways. You click, you listen, you type, you move on, you print, you tape…it’s truly engaging. I think this “interactivity” will make a big difference in me sticking with this program. With a book, it’s so easy to read it and think, “Wow, that’s awesome. Now I have to go cook dinner,” and never really apply what I’ve learned. In the Simpleology system, you apply what you’re learning immediately and repeatedly. It really sticks with you the rest of the day and makes it more applicable to daily life.

This system is beneficial to ANYBODY. It’s unbelievable that it’s free. If you aren’t applying a system like this to your life, your health, your business, whatever, you aren’t serious about taking it to the next level. If you’ve ever struggled with applying “self-help” principles to your life or with making serious, long-lasting changes in your life, you will benefit from Simpleology.
