For example, my blog is KariBaxter.com. My Instagram name is karibaxter. My facebook page is Kari Baxter. My facebook page link is https://www.facebook.com/KariBaxterPage/. Make them the same, or as close as possible.

If you’re selling health products and your blog is Healthy Living, your Instagram name should be HealthyLiving, Healthy_Living, Healthy_Living_Blog, or Healthy_Living_Today. You get the idea.

Your Instagram Bio

In Instagram, there is a place where you can put a little information about yourself. This is called the instagram bio. A good bio will help you get more followers on Instagram because people who are looking for what you have will be able to find you.

Your bio should include 3 things: your screen name, a headline, and what you’re selling or offering. Your screen name, or handle, will be included automatically. The headline is the first part of the bio and it is bolded, so it really stands out. This can be your business name or a short, catchy phrase about your business. The rest of the bio should include WHAT your business is and WHO you serve. Your bio is searchable and should be keyword rich. If you’re selling jewelry, include keywords to help people find you — jewelry, bracelets, and necklaces for sassy women in their 20s.

At this time, your bio is the only place on Instagram, except for paid ads, where you can link to another website. In your bio, include a link to where you want leads and customers to go, like your website or a lead capture page (more on this below).

Connect with your Followers on Instagram

It’s not enough to get more followers on Instagram. You want to turn those followers into raving fans who love you and your brand.

Connecting with your followers includes your branding, your visuals, colors, logo, look, personality, and what your target market wants. This could be it’s own blog post or training! Besides having images that POP with your look and personality, the best way to connect is to KNOW your target market. Know what they love and what their goals are to tailor your message to them.

Convert Your Instagram Followers into Leads and Sales

You’ve been found on Instagram. Your followers love your look, your posts, and your personality. How do you turn them into leads, so you can stay in touch with them and convert them to buyers? If you’re reading this, your goal isn’t to have a pretty IG feed. It’s to make money from that gorgeous feed.

First, collect your followers’ contact information. You do that by taking them to a page where they can enter their name and email address (a lead capture page). This is the link you will have in your bio. Once a follower goes to that page, you can offer them something in return for their information, like your 10 best smoothie recipes, the top 3 accessories every woman should own and how to style them, or 10% off their first order.

Once you have their email address, they are your lead. You can email them, call them, ask them to call you, offer your products or services, or educate them. It’s up to you!
