3 Ways to Use Video to Grow Your Network Marketing Business

Video creates a connection with your audience in a way nothing else can. Today, I’m going to show you how to use video to grow your network marketing business.

Why Use Video to Grow Your Network Marketing Business?

Using video is part of a bigger picture called attraction marketing. It’s using a medium like social media or video or email to bring people to you instead of you always having to go out and hunt for other people, which used to be the old way of network marketing — always having to be chasing your friends and family.

Attraction marketing is a new way to reach out to a way bigger audience than you normally would know as far as through your friends and your family, reaching a way bigger audience, and having them come to you instead of you always having to be the hunter going to them.

Attraction marketing is fun, it’s a great way to do business, and it’s much more comfortable, less sales-y, and less aggressive than prospecting, especially if you’re reaching out for the 5th time to someone who has already told you no.

#1 — Think TINY

The first thing you want to do when you’re using video marketing to grow your network marketing business is to keep the other person in mind. I like the acronym TINY: Their Interests, Not Yours.

Anytime you’re doing network marketing you should keep that in mind, but especially when you’re doing video. When people watch your video, they don’t care about your story, they don’t care about all your hard times. When you’re first getting started, keep the part about yourself really, really short.

I’ve been in network marketing for 20 years. I could go on and on about all the stories I have, but that’s not why you’re here. That’s not what you were searching for when you were searching on YouTube, right? You were searching for how to use video to grow your network marketing business. So keep the other person, the other person’s interests at the time of your mind.

#2 – Teach People Something

A great way to do that is how-to videos. People search YouTube and Google for how to do things. If you can teach people how to do things, you will get more views, more subscribers and more people coming to you, looking to you as a source of education and as an expert. So especially when you’re starting out, you cannot go wrong with how-to videos and tutorials.

How to Do ILT

There are so many topics you can teach people regarding network marketing, even if you don’t have amazing results and even if you’re just getting started. There’s a concept I learned from Ray Higdon called Invest, Learn, Teach.

You can invest a little bit of your time or money, learn something from somebody else and go teach it. You can take this video talking about video marketing and go teach it in your own video, and generate your own prospects.

Remember, their interests, not yours, in whatever you’re teaching or showing somebody how to do. Focus on their education.

#3 – Start the Conversation

What do you do once you have people coming to you?

Let’s say you do 5 videos on how to do something in network marketing, and you post them on YouTube or you do a Facebook Live, and you have people asking you questions.

The number one thing you want to do is start the conversation with that other person. It’s not time for a hard close or even getting them on the phone. Most likely you’re going to start the conversation, see where they’re at, see how you can help them, and if the opportunity presents itself, you can see if they’re interested in what you’re doing. But really, you just want to get the conversation started and kind of move from there.

Open the door with your topic of conversation. If you did a video on how to find more prospects, and people started asking you questions, you could just start a conversation on where they’re struggling in their prospecting, or what results they’ve had so far, or how they’re doing in their company.

Chances are if they’re watching your video and they’re asking you questions, they’re struggling with that, so there might be a window for you to help them, or at least open the door to start a conversation and maybe introduce your network marketing company to them.
